Bauerle Ranch is a master-planned community built by D.R. Horton and established in 2002. In part because it is so new, Bauerle Ranch has a feeling of a tidy, well cared for neighborhood.
Though it could certainly be assumed that the Bauerle Ranch real estate market targets families with their relatively low prices for bigger houses set on bigger lots, South Austin has always been a draw for all sorts of homeowners: singles, young couples, empty nesters, and families alike.

Bauerle Ranch is only twenty minutes from downtown Austin, using either the Mopac Expressway to the west of Interstate 35 to the east. In that sense, it is close to all that Austin affords its residents—great shopping, fine dining, museums, community gardens, swimming holes, live music, and all the nightlife and culture for which the city has become known.
But Baurele Ranch homes are situated in a community all its own—South Austin. Residents there are close to grocery stores such as H.E.B. and Randall’s, restaurants like the Galaxy Café and Maudie’s Tex-Mex, and The Texican. Movie theaters, a shopping mall, a bowling alley, coffee shops: they are all within easy reach.
Those looking to enjoy the outdoors can entertain themselves within the community at the neighborhood swimming pool, park, playground, sports courts, or the 300 acres of undeveloped, reserved park land that the neighborhood encompasses. Or, for those who would like to venture a little bit further, nearby jogging, hiking, and biking trails, and greenbelt access create a huge number of options.

Students living in Bauerle Ranch may attend nearby Austin Independent School District Schools: Kocurek Elementary, Bailey Middle School or Akins High School.
In 2007 Texas Education Agency accountability ratings, Akins High and Kocurek Elementary received “Academically Acceptable” status, meeting state standards. Bailey Middle School exceeded standards and was granted “Recognized” status.
